Cañon del colca Peru –  Tour Cañon del Colca 2 días 1 noche

We’ll begin our tour from our hotel in Arequipa to Puno tour, located 2,335 meters above sea level. This white city, surrounded by volcanoes, offers a cool morning with temperatures between 10°C and 15°C. Our tourist transport will take us to the Arequipa Colca Canyon tour  in Peru , one of the most impressive natural wonders.

We’ll travel along the Yura route, a scenic road with spectacular views of the Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu volcanoes. The landscape will transform as we ascend to the high plateaus. We’ll feel the air become drier and colder as we gain altitude.

We will enter the Salinas y Aguada Blanca National Reserve, known for its vast plains and wetlands. Here we can observe emblematic animals such as llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, and guanacos. In this protected area, it is common to see high-Andean birds such as wild ducks, ibises, and flamingos.

We’ll stop in Patahuasi, at 4,000 meters above sea level, where we’ll have a hot infusion of coca leaves. This ancestral beverage helps prevent altitude sickness. We’ll also explore wind-eroded rock formations that have created unique landscapes.

 We will continue our journey across the Tojra Pampa wetlands. We will see small lagoons and wetlands where alpacas graze and migratory birds nest. The climate in this area is cold, with temperatures between 0°C and 10°C in the morning.

 We will reach the Mirador de los Andes, the highest point of the tour, at 4,910 meters above sea level. From here, we will have panoramic views of volcanoes such as Ampato, Sabancaya, and Hualca Hualca (6,025 meters above sea level). We will be able to take photographs and breathe the pure mountain air.

Around midday, we’ll arrive in the charming town of Chivay, located 3,632 meters above sea level. Here, we’ll enjoy a buffet lunch featuring typical dishes made with local ingredients. Chivay’s cuisine highlights Andean ingredients and local flavors.

After lunch, we’ll head to the La Calera hot springs. Their mineral-rich waters reach a temperature of 38°C and are ideal for relaxing muscles and relieving stress. They are surrounded by mountains and fresh air, making the experience even more soothing.

We will stay in a comfortable hotel in Chivay (optional). In the evening, we will have dinner at a local restaurant with live Andean music and folk dances. We will enjoy regional dishes while learning about the cultural traditions of the Colca Valley.
