DAY1 SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS / MACHUPICCHU
After breakfast we will pick you up from your hotel to start the excursion to the “Sacred Valley of the Incas”. You will visit the picturesque town of Pisac and its colorful craft fair. Walk in the archaeological center of Pisac where we will have a panoramic view of the Inca terraces. We will pass through Urubanba where we will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch.
In the afternoon we continue our trip to the Inca town and fortress of Ollantaytambo, a gigantic administrative, agricultural, civil, military and religious complex in the times of the Tawantinsuyo.
In the afternoon at approximately 7:00 p.m. we will board the train to Aguas Calientes, where our staff will be waiting for your arrival to accommodate you at your hotel.
At approximately 21:00, our guide will arrive at your hotel and will inform you about the tour and the program for the next day.
Overnight in Aguas Calientes.
DAY:2 SANCTUARY OF MACHUPICCHU / CUSCO
At 5:30 we will take the bus to climb 400 meters of altitude on a zigzag path. After approximately 30 minutes we will arrive at the amazing Wonder of the World “Sanctuary of Machupicchu”, known as “The Lost City of the Incas”, where we can enjoy the sunrise of Machupicchu.
In the Sanctuary of Machupicchu we will start our guided tour, visiting the guardian’s house, the Plaza de Armas, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Rooms, the Temple of the Three Windows in Inti Watana and the cemeteries.
You will then have free time to explore the citadel on your own. Later we will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you can have lunch in the afternoon. We will board the train to Ollantaytambo, where our transport will be waiting for us to take you to the city of Cusco.
