We will start picking you up from your respective downtown hotel from 06:00 to 06:20 am or the Plaza de Armas meeting point.
We start our excursion taking the Yura highway, we will enjoy majestic views of the volcanoes that surround the city, the first point we will visit is the town of Pampa de Arrieros and its old train station, we will make a stop at the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve for the observation of vicuñas and in the Patahuasi sector so that they can take an Inca mate.
Then we will go to the Puruña stone forest, Puruña is located 150 km northeast of the city of Arequipa and is easily accessible as it is near the Arequipa highway; we make a stop at the Carlitos viewpoint to see the volcanoes of Arequipa; We will start the walk of approximately 1 hour 30 min in the Puruña stone forest, it is a strange and very original rock formation, which is made up of a set of natural stone columns that take on the appearance of a mysterious enchanted and petrified forest; of ignimbrite material that is the product of sedimentation of currents of material expelled from the volcano, it is made up of ashes, lapilli and blocks, the components are welded together, they can be called tufitic breccia of volcanic material of all grain sizes The work carried out by the erosive forces of nature (rain, wind and sun), make it a fascinating place.
It has originated through hundreds of years, it simulates different silhouettes that resemble prehistoric animals, it is a form of abstract art of nature, which invites us to interpret the forms that the rocks have taken, its originality allows those who visit the stone forest admire such beauty.
Continuing with the tour by car, we will arrive at the populated center of Pillones where the Pillones waterfall is located.
Upon reaching the falls you will see rocks shaped by water erosion, you can descend to the falls, once there you will have free time to take photos for memories and enjoy the landscape, nature. Finally we will return to the city, arrival in Arequipa at 17:00 pm.
